Tony Eastwood
I was very keen on art at school in South Africa. But I strayed into engineering and manufacturing, creating and constructing a wide range of products, from high-end audio amplifiers to 200 tonne power transformers. Along the way I have strayed into ceramics, leaded light window design and construction and sculpting in wood, clay and stone.
I have learned a lot from local and overseas tutors. I am a keen photographer which supports my interest in birds and landscape painting.
Now I concentrate on pastel painting and more recently oil painting. I have participated in many exhibitions around Christchurch, selling a few works.
My painting concentrates on landscapes and birds. Restoration of old paintings has become an interest.
I like to paint with others, with the Canterbury Pastel Group and the am co-organiser of Diamond Harbour Art Group.
