Fergus Lockyer

Sydney-born Fergus Lockyer is 24 years old and grew up in Governors Bay from the age of five. Te Whakaraupo and Banks Peninsula became his backyard and remain very close to his heart.

He is self-taught and has been painting since childhood. Fergus currently lives in Wellington where he works at filmset construction.

He had been commissioned for specific pieces and has sold his work online.

Of the artwork he is donating to this event, Fergus said: "I thought of home and knew exactly what I wanted to put down; the colours and the shapes seemed to know where to go."
