Colin G Jamieson has art work hanging throughout New Zealand including Massey University (Chapel), and overseas - Bossey Ecumenical Institute (Switzerland), Canada, Germany, and UK. He also has work published in variety of Journals.
Nelson was the nursery for his understanding of spirituality and creativity - at St John’s Methodist Church and Nelson College training in the fine arts under the tutelage of Irvine Major in preparation for a Dip Fine Arts (CU). From Art teacher to ministry to community mental health adviser I was involved the understanding of spirituality and subjective experience especially as they related to creativity and health.
In 1972, the Methodist provided Sponsored Study: travelled through seven countries studying the relationship between religion and the arts.
1975, I was involved in the founding member of the Christian Arts Inc. in Dunedin and editor of their publication “The Ch’Art.”
1978, I was one of two active artists representing New Zealand to attend the Christian Artists Conference for Asia, at Kuta, Bali.
1981, I was invited to participate in an international seminar on symbolism, art and religion at the Bossey Ecumenical Institute of the World Council of Churches in Switzerland, and also provide an exhibition there.
In 1991, I Established “The College for Creativity in Aotearoa New Zealand”, Christchurch
Then in 2004, with Jennifer Barrer we formed Chalice Publishers: ‘Published Stations of the Land’, and ‘Port Hills Poems’ and out latest product, just finished, the film “Dancing with Ghosts.”
