Annie Collins

Annie Collins is a Governors Bay born jeweller and goldsmith who sells her work under the label Buster Collins.

She began her training under Christchurch jeweller Brian Minnear, before moving to Wellington to study at Whitireia with Peter Deckers. Almost 20 years in Wellington saw her co-founding Workspace Studios in 2006 and Mason & Collins jewellery gallery in 2015.

Annie returned to Governors Bay to be closer to family but Mason & Collins and Workspace continue to thrive, providing classes, bench space, tools, and support to fledgling jewellers.

Annie enjoys making pieces that are solid, strong and wearable. She draws inspiration from the animal kingdom and nature, as well as mythology and history. Buster Collins pieces tend to have rough textures, oxidisation and a scattering of stones.
